On July 10, the Northwest design community flocked to Danish design brand HAY’s Pearl District showroom in Portland, Oregon for a midsummer party that doubled as an official unveiling of the brand’s latest offerings. Throughout the evening, attendees lounged on HAY’s Silhouette Sofa, ogled colorful glassware by expert glass artist Jochen Holz, and got a first-hand look at the designer Ana Kraš’s much-anticipated Bonbon lamp.
As hors d’oeuvres and cocktails circulated through the showroom, party-goers mingled and browsed through GRAY’s June/July issue, which was displayed throughout the space.
Among the creatives in attendance were florist Manu Flores, photographer Christopher Dibble, designer Vince Skelly, curator Sara Bauer, HAY’s director of brand development, Laura Galu, and HAY’s director of communications, Alison Moran.
“We were so excited to welcome the greater Portland region into the store to celebrate summer and the arrivals of new HAY accessories and lighting, including the Bonbon lamp by Ana Kraš,” says Moran. “Our aim, with each of our stores, is to create malleable spaces that can easily be activated for the purposes of encouraging a sense of community and happiness. It was gratifying to see so many people discover their love of HAY for the first time at the event.”
