Vancouver’s ADDRESS Assembly is back, running September 25–29. The annual design fair, founded in 2014 by furniture designer Kate Duncan and MāK Interiors principal designer Amber Kingsnorth, has a few new additions this year, starting with the much-larger Eastside Studios venue that will allow its more than 40 exhibitors extra space for showcasing their goods.
The festivities kick off at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 25, with the opening party, and the show opens daily at 10 a.m. Expect furniture, lighting, and accessories from artisans around North America including Los Angeles-based fiber artist Nike Schroeder, Toronto sculptor Djuna Day, Vancouver-based furniture studio Skilled Labour, and Amy Cripps of Victoria, BC-based hand-painted textile company Margie Bella Textile.
“The level of talent in both production complexity and aesthetics always blows my mind,” Duncan says. “It’s so incredible to see the final product in real life on our show floor. To meet the makers and discuss their pieces makes it a truly special event.”
Entrance to ADDRESS is free, with a suggested donation at the door, which benefits the British Columbia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. addressassembly.com
