With NeoCon wrapping up, GRAY highlights the designs making waves at Chicago’s annual exhibition featuring the latest and most innovative solutions in commercial design.

Yinka Illori X Momentum Textiles & Wallpapers

British-Nigerian multi-disciplinary artist and designer Yinka Ilori, brings his signature vibrant and joyful style, inspired by his love of color and passion for joyous design, to the new collection of five textiles and three wallcoverings. “My collaboration with Momentum is a testament to the power of happiness created by strong community and storytelling,” says Ilori. “Together, we aim to transform commercial spaces into playful, creative hubs that inspire, uplift, and even heal. We’re bringing a fresh take to commercial design with products that breathe color and optimism into every corner of any space. Ilori has also unveiled an immersive commission exploring memories and mindfulness as part of Chicago’s Art on the Mart program.

The collaboration is showcased at Momentum, The Mart Suite 323.

Toogood X Poltrona Frau

“I’m thinking of this collection as English Folk with Italian Horsepower,” says British designer Faye Toogood of the Imagine Collection, an ongoing exploration by luxury Italian manufacturer Poltrona Frau. Toogood’s trip to the Poltrona Frau factory and archive in Tolentino, Italy, revealed the ingredients for her first piece, the Squash armchair, inspired by the company’s surprising 1970s shapes, Ferrari interiors and 1930s Vanity Fair in lipstick Red. An armchair, ottoman, mirrors and rug quickly followed suit, more playful material explorations testing the boundaries between hard and soft.

Cloud by Scandinavian Spaces

In sharp contrast to the clinical application of acoustic paneling, especially in typical offices, Scandinavian Spaces presents a whimsical, sound-absorbing alternative that brings joy, energy and life into interior spaces. Manufactured with sustainably hand-picked reindeer moss native to the mountain ranges of northern Scandinavia,  Cloud is a natural sound absorber. Fire-resistant, hypoallergenic, and completely maintenance-free, the suspended sphere is available in multiple colors and sizes.

The Scandinavian Spaces showroom and ScandiCafé are located at Suite 366.

Summer Collection by Mizetto

Debuting its first North American showroom at NeoCon, the Scandinavian furniture company is showcasing its summer collection—including pieces like Parker, the indoor-outdoor bamboo bench and Felt Like it Too, the ultimate office in a bag—alongside classic designs in their playfully themed “Trash in a Greenroom” exhibit that puts spotlight on the importance of recycling. Kitted out with waste systems designed as part of the solution (Captin, for example, is “about as thrilling as waste bins get," says co-founder Malin Muskala), the concept space will open conversation around interior environments, especially offices, and recycling.
