GRAY Magazine Launches No. 59 with Pop-Up Party in Seattle

cover of GRAY magazine No. 59 featuring man sitting on designer sofa, facing open pages of magazine with photos of designers and architects and pull quotes on a coral colored background

The August/September issue of GRAY heads to newsstands this week. The cover features a furniture piece designed by Rich Mnisi—primarily known as a fashion designer—for Southern Guild, as part of a collection titled Nwa-Mulamula, inspired by his grandmother.

Themed "The Warrior Issue," this edition highlights fearless nonconformists blazing new pathways and challenging design industry norms. Read an inspiring conversation about social equity in architecture between Toshiko Mori and Pascale Sablan, renegade architect Frank Gehry, lessons learned by designers around the globe as they reflect on 2020, a dispatch from the design scene in Seattle, and more.

GRAY will celebrate this issue's launch at our new pop-up series, GRAY [ irl ], in Seattle on August 12, 2021. Hosted by Mutuus Studio in their beautiful indoor gallery and large outdoor patio, beverages provided by OOLA Distillery. Come for the compelling content, stay for the prizes, drinks + apps, and conversation ... irl! Capacity is limited, RSVP required. Masks encouraged.
