Who doesn’t love a well-designed chair?
The CC3 Café Chair by Seattle design studio Fin is a successful example of the “less is more” mantra, which is what drew our editors to the product. A continuation in a series of simple, sturdy chairs, this piece has a structure made from solid wood, while the backrest and seat are molded plywood. It’s a chair that isn’t trying too hard and its minimal, Scandinavian-influenced aesthetic makes it an appealing choice for small spaces and hospitality settings alike.
“Simple geometric solutions define the seating position and aesthetic of the CC3 chair,” writes designer Darin Montgomery. “Although the chair occupies a small footprint, the angle of the seat pan and backrest provide a comfortable seating experience.”
All of Fin’s products are manufactured in its Seattle workshop using domestic hardwoods and European beech wood. The studio also uses all-natural shellac dissolved in pure grain alcohol and beeswax finishes.
