“IT WAS IMPORTANT TO ME WHEN DESIGNING THE GALLATIN CARRYALL THAT IT COULD TRULY BE MULTI-FUNCTIONAL,” says Jackson Leavitt, who founded the Seattle-based J. Leavitt Supply Co. in early 2016 after more than 20 years designing and building custom upholstered furniture. “I wanted something I could throw a laptop, lunch, and of course my coffee into while commuting to work. I also wanted it to transition easily into a post-work/weekend bag that could take a beating.”
The sturdy Gallatin carryall features heavy-weight waxed canvas with full-grain English bridle leather handles (opt for either a reinforced waxed canvas or full-grain leather bottom), solid brass hardware and a water- and tear-resistant polyester lining. Leavitt says his entire product line, which he makes in his SoDo neighborhood studio, is inspired by his love for both the city and the great outdoors, and this bag is no exception: it’s named after Montana’s Gallatin River where he and his father would go fly fishing every summer.
