Ten distinguished GRAY Award winners — chosen by an esteemed panel of international design stars — will be honored at the design party of the year and unveiled in their full visual splendor in GRAY’s high-profile December/January issue.

For the Design For Good category, GRAY editors will cull nominations and recognize a project, product, or individual that makes a positive impact through design on a social, humanitarian, community, or environmental issue.
GRAY Award winners will be revealed November 29, 2017 in a buzzy, much-anticipated party at the prestigious new SLS Seattle hotel, designed by Philippe Starck and ZGF Architects. Breaking all the rules of traditional awards programming, GRAY will surprise attendees with a splashy big reveal. Winners will receive a custom-designed contemporary glass art trophy, handcrafted exclusively for the GRAY Awards by John Hogan, the critically acclaimed Seattle-based artist and product designer.
The 10 GRAY Award winners—alongside a robust selection of best-of “Editor’s Picks” and a “Design for Good” honoree, each selected from among the full spectrum of submissions—will additionally be featured in editorially produced, in-depth stories in GRAY’s December/January issue, dedicated to spotlighting the Northwest’s most innovative and envelope-pushing design.
GRAY has selected The BLOCK Project as its charitable partner to receive 50% of the GRAY Awards Party ticket proceeds. The BLOCK Project, a non-profit program started by architects and dedicated to alleviating homelessness in Seattle.
