A whimsical union of design and companionship: MCM x Pet Therapy at the Giardino delle Arti during Salone del Mobile

In the heart of Milan, the Giardino delle Arti features an enchanting installation by MCM in collaboration with Pet Therapy for Salone del Mobile 2025. The project introduces a series of sculptural, pet-friendly poufs shaped like beloved cats and dogs. The immersive experience invites guests into a dreamlike space where furniture meets art, celebrating the joyful bond between humans and their furry friends.
At the center of this imaginative project is 11-year-old Altea Biagetti, whose vision was nurtured by her parents, Alberto Biagetti and Laura Baldassari of Atelier Biagetti. This family-centric approach brings a refreshing perspective to design, creating pieces that prioritize simplicity and immediate recognition. “We envisioned a home without limits, where design becomes a way to share tenderness and imagination,” they explain. This collection resonates deeply with families from all walks of life, offering a tribute to the innocence and wonder of childhood.
Playhouses and oversized cat sculptures MCM x Pet Therapy installation serve as decorative objects and interactive elements designed to spark curiosity and invite moments of play and relaxation.
The MCM x Pet Therapy collection redefines modern luxury by merging MCM’s bold aesthetics with the whimsical style of Pet Therapy. With playful, cartoon-inspired details and illustrated pet characters made from upcycled material, this collaboration pushes the boundaries of traditional home design, inviting people to experience their living spaces in delightful new ways. As MCM’s Chief Visionary Officer, Sung-Joo Kim, emphasizes, “At MCM, design goes beyond aesthetics—it’s about creating experiences that bring happiness and emotional connection.”
As visitors enter the installation, they are greeted by surreal palm tree lights and vibrant textures that embody a vision of a playful home. Miniature wooden houses scattered throughout the space create an inviting atmosphere where the joy of play is encouraged and celebrated as a vital component of life. Each day will feature unique activation events from Pet Pilates to dog training sessions.
The installation at Giardino delle Arti opened on April 7th with a press preview and will be accessible to the public from April 8–13, 2025.
